Hello there! As promised, we'll be trying to bring you some lovely musical mixes from around the globe on this little blog and today we have the perfect chilled summery guest mix to kick us off. This is the juicily funky downtempo LOVE UNLIMITED mix from the fantastic Liverpudlian disco-master COSMIC BOOGIE - and we promise that you are going to love it.

We, at Funkydoo, have been collecting Cosmic Boogie's re-edit gems on vinyl for the last couple of years and therefore, we're pretty proud to feature a little collection of some tunes that he's spinning at the moment. This particular mix features a loved up collection of summery disco/soul classics, mixed to perfection in an hour long bundling of serene boogie - indeed perfect for those long afternoons in the sunshine.

He also plays some firing underground nu-disco sets for the more bouncy of dancefloors and you'll find him regularly rocking the cooler joints up and down the country alongside the likes of the legendary Greg Wilson. As we mentioned before, you will find his many sublime re-edits at a decent record store near you and he also runs a hugely well respected underground nu-disco record label as well as keeping a rather tasty blog, just like this one, but better.

So, we could rant on all day about COSMIC BOOGIE to accompany his guest mix, but instead we decided to fire some questions at the man himself.

Funkydoo: Hello, so tell us, what is Cosmic Boogie?

Cosmic Boogie: Cosmic Boogie is the name I take for the blog, record label, djing and night I run. It started out as a few of us, but boiled down to just me, a labour of love. Really though, as you can tell by the name, it's all about the music.

Funkydoo: Who are your musical influences?

Cosmic Boogie: Everything from Talking Heads to Roni Size. I suppose if I had one person who helped me discover new things more than anyone it would be Greg Wilson, who is a close friend and fellow Liverpool dweller. But really, if it has good percussion, i'm into it.

Funkydoo: What is your favourite edit/remix that you've produced?

Cosmic Boogie: My first remix is coming out soon, I've had loads of other stuff out but these are all re-edits. My first remix you can find here...

Funkydoo: What is your favourite haunt for DJ'ing in?

Cosmic Boogie: I love El Diablos in Manchester, I love playing in Brighton, and I like playing anywhere in Liverpool as it's my home city. But the best place to play in the world is Poland. So far, anyway...

Funkydoo: What is the music you're playing in this mix?

Cosmic Boogie: Disco. It's all disco isn't it? It's all played in discotheques, it's all disco.

Funkydoo: of course!..and finally, where are you playing next?

Cosmic Boogie: Brighton with Greg Wilson & Pablo on the 30th of this month...
