HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

It's hard to believe, but this Funkydoo blog was one year old a week or so ago!! So, to celebrate, here is a shiny new mix for you to enjoy this Friday night. It's been a grey and moody day, and I was in the mood for some groovy downtempo disco tunes, so here you have the result of my last two hours in the studio.

Never venturing above 100BPM, this mix is designed for late night sessions, however you choose to carry out your late night sessions, and it's slow, seductive and incredibly sexy. I've included a number of recent re-edits of old and magical gems, some new and upcoming artists that are rocking the more discerning dancefloors across the globe and even included my own little remix of Aloe Blacc (as MR EDIT MAN), that causes a little stir each time I play it out.

There's no fancy mixing here, just fancy tunes, so sit back and give it a listen and I hope you enjoy it.

I'll be up at Longsbar playing a solo 4 hour set this Saturday night after a curry and beer fuelled day at the MELA in old town gardens. Expect a few of these downtempo nuggets as well as a load more uptempo funky monsters that i've been collecting over the last month, so come along to the pub if you're out and join in with a large dose of nice music, beer and good company.

We at Funkydoo would also like to say how gutted we are about the Swindon Invincible festival happenings in the last week. It's been a great part of our town's culture over the last three years, and we all hope that it bounces back with full force next year.

So please, come along and support the alternative event at MECA and help ensure that Invincible can happen in full force next year. I'll be doing a bit on the decks that night, and it's an absolutely top drawer lineup for just a tenner, so hopefully we'll see you there.
